Stars - Gary Cooper (#11); Cheers (#57); Heroes - Alvin York (#35)
Gary Cooper (who reminds me of my up north uncle, both in looks and in soft-spokenness) has a knack for playing men who stick to their guns and do the right thing. His quiet demeanor captures the characters' inner struggles. That's what he does with Sergeant York.
It's a heroic story, and Cooper does it well.
