Duck Soup

Top 100 (#85); Laughs (#5); Stars - The Marx Brothers (#20)

Stupid comedy movies were so much better in Old Hollywood than they are now. Back then, they were stupid and funny. Today, they're just stupid.

Duck Soup is silly. Groucho Marx plays a man who unexpectedly becomes the leader of the small country of Freedonia. It's physical comedy, one-liners, and a whole lot of craziness. But it's a fun escape to the movies. That's what entertainment should be.

happy world food day.

incidently, this movie has nothing to do with soup. the phrase 'duck soup' is similar in meaning to 'piece of cake'. but that's food, too, hence i reviewed this movie today.

it's also dictionary day

hmm...my calendar lists that as tomorrow. but anyways, until you make a top 100 movie about noah webster, my definition of duck soup will have to suffice.
