Laughs (#42); Top Ten - Fantasy (#10)
This is a movie that could have gone wrong in so many ways. There have been countless variations of this plot that have failed miserably (Like Father Like Son, Vice Versa). Big, however, succeeded. And Tom Hanks can take credit for that.
While most adult actors play a twelve-year-old as if he were four, Tom Hanks gets it. He captures Josh's playfulness, vulnerability, and adolescent confusion perfectly, and as a result the audience believes that he just might be a pre-teen after all.
Kudos, Mr. Hanks!

is this another one that i'm un-american for having not seen?
well, yes. but not as much as raiders of the lost ark
well, maybe you're still american, but you're unpopcultured.
then again, you were too young to see it when it came out so i guess i can understand why you haven't seen it since.
that's most of those that i haven't seen that people think make me horribly unpopcultured.
