Thrills (#83)
This 1925 version is creepier than the one by Andrew Lloyd Weber. Lon Chaney did his own makeup, and he looks pretty gross. Some sequences in the movie seemed long, but that's probably because there was no talking.
Snitz Edwards was in this movie (he was in Thief of Bagdad, too), so that's happy. Snitz is a great name. Other than that, I much prefer the Weber remake.
