The Sound of Music may be the greatest musical of all time, but Fiddler on the Roof is my favorite.
Tevye loves his daughters and will do anything for them. But when he has to choose between pleasing his daughter and obeying his God, the decision brings tears. I love his humanness.
The songs are great, too. If I Were a Rich Man; Matchmaker, Matchmaker; Miracle of Miracles - all terrific!

great movie. but how is it listed in 'cheers'? that doesn't seem quite right.
because it's inspirational because they held on to hope despite adversity.
or because we like singing 'tradition' really loudly.
