Laughs (#83); Stars - Elizabeth Taylor (#7), Spencer Tracy (#9)
A tender, funny comedy about a father coming to grips with being the #2 man in his daughter's life. I really like this movie, and while I loved the 1991 version, the 1950 film is better in that it doesn't have the over-the-top annoying Martin Short. Both are worth watching, but the original is definitely more relate-able.

i'm sure i've seen this one, but i don't remember it. i did like the timing of the other one, though.
i did really like the remake (and yes, the timing was perfect). the only flaw was that it went too far overboard. yes, the wedding bills are supposed to keep adding up ridiculously (as they did in the original). it just went way too far. but i loved, loved the relationship between steve martin and kimberly williams.
and i loved that her fiance bought her a blender.
