Cheers (#15)
Today is Special Education Day, so I thought it fitting to recognize one of the pioneers in special education. Annie Sullivan was amazing. Helen Keller said of her, "Once I knew only darkness and stillness... my life was without past or future... but a little word from the fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and my heart leaped to the rapture of living."
This movie does a wonderful job telling the story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan, their frustrations and their triumphs. Definitely cheer-worthy.

it truly is amazing
another thing that baffles me, probably because the movie shows her early life in the late 1800s, is that she was alive at the same time as our parents. i've always thought that was really cool.
